Lent 2015: What Are You Giving Up?

We enter into the time of Lent on Ash Wednesday, which is a 40-day period

of fasting and praying until the Saturday before Easter (April 5, 2015).

Here is something to think about. Instead of giving up or fasting from things that

can be seen, heard, tasted or touched in the physical realm such as food, social

media, t.v., etc), try fasting from things that cannot be seen, heard, tasted or

touched. Some examples of these are giving up procrastination, laziness,

backbiting, gossiping, unforgiveness, lying, cheating, sleepwalking through life,

envy, self doubt, negative thinking, negative people, negative speaking,

ungratefulness, etc. I think you get the idea. Take some time to do some self

reflecting and how you can make a difference in the kingdom. Someone in this

world is out there waiting on you to do it.
