47 Days of Prayer & Consecration

A few days from now, I will turn 47 years old. I researched and the number 47 is symbolic of humility. This has a huge significance for me because at the very moment, I am in a place of humility. My pride and ego have both been destroyed in ways that I could not have even imagined.

About two weeks ago, I was led to do 47 days of prayer and consecration which has been breaking chains and destroying yokes in my life. As part of this consecration, I am working the 'Purpose Driven Life' by Pastor Rick Warren. I began the book after I had completed one week of the consecration, which leaves the 40 days that it takes to complete the book. Each day is filled with insight, scriptural references and questions to ponder and answer. So far, I am on Day 10 and this part of my journey has been enlightening to say the least.

Also, as part of this consecration, I decided to refrain from some things, including social media sites. That was a struggle at first because I was always checking in on FB and TW, but since this has begun, I have not. I realized how distracting those sites can be and whether or not we are conscious of it, they put a lot of voices in our heads. Uh hum, they sure do. So, I knew that they would need to be the first to go, so that the only voice that I am focused on hearing is that of God.

There are some other things that I intend to gain as a result of this experience. Wisdom and guidance are at top of the list. I have so many things that I want to do but I don't want to make a move without clear instructions from God. As I mentioned in the first post, I have this opportunity to move across the country to serve and I feel that this came as a result of the 47-day consecration.  If that is the case, then I will be relocating within the next couple of months.
