The Law of Attraction: A Biblical Principle- Faith

BELIEVE = FAITH + LETTING GO

So, as we move forward in breaking down this principle, I'm now going to discuss one of my favorite topics, BELIEVING.

The Law of Attraction says that after you ASK, your next step is to BELIEVE. You are to believe that you what you have asked for, will be granted to you.

The LoA movie, The Secret, uses the example of the Genie (Universe). A request is made known to the Genie. It then responds with the statement, "Your wish is my command". And because the word of the Genie is accepted and believed to be true, that wish is granted.

To BELIEVE means to accept something as true, real and genuine. When you believe something or in some thing,
you are stating that , in your mind and your heart, it is so. When you believe in yourself, you are stating that you have faith and confidence that you can do anything that you set your mind to. You trust yourself. And you would be right because when you believe, you CAN DO ANYTHING.

The Bible says that when you BELIEVE that you will receive what you ASK for, then you will have it. All you need to do is believe it.

Mark 11:23-24 (AMP)
23: Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but BELIEVES that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.

24: For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, BELIEVE (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].

Believing is having FAITH. Faith is trust, hope and belief in the goodness, trustworthiness or reliability of a person, concept or entity. It is complete confidence and trust in something or someone. Here is how the Bible defines FAITH:

Hebrews 11:1
NOW, FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)
NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

With FAITH, all things are possible to anyone who believes. ANYONE! FAITH in GOD, is what pleases HIM and because HE is pleased, He makes sure that we are pleased.

Matthew 19:16
...but with God all things are possible

Luke 1:37
For nothing is impossible with God.

Matthew 17:20
...if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

Those scriptures are saying that when you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that something will happen, then that is exactly what will happen.

The Scenario
Most people have faith in things or people without realizing it. Let me give you a couple of examples of acts of faith, in one scenario.

You decide that you want to go to a nice restaurant for dinner. You call the place to make reservations. You then get into your car and drive to the location. You get out of your car and walk inside of the building. You then pull out your chair and have a seat. You place an order from the menu and enjoy your meal. When you're done, you give pull your credit card from your wallet and hand it to the waitress. She then walks away and return a few moments later with your credit card and receipt. You get up from the table and walk out the building. You get into your car and drive home.

Can you guess how many FAITH examples are in this scenario? How many times did you display acts of FAITH? Well, let's count them and see.

1) You had faith that the restaurant was open because you made the decision to go that particular restaurant.
2) You had faith that your telephone had service, because you just picked it up, dialed the number and made reservations.
3) You had faith that your car was working when you got in it and put the key in the ignition.
4) You had faith that your car would continue to work and get you to your destination.
5) You had faith that the door would open for you when you pulled it to walk into the building.
6) You had faith that the chair that you pulled out, was strong enough to hold you and you wouldn't fall to the floor.
7) You had faith that what you ordered from that menu is exactly what you would receive to eat.
8) You had faith that the chef would prepared your food properly, even though you were not in the kitchen with the chef.
9) You had faith that the waitress who took your credit card for processing, would not disappear with it. You handed it over with no problem.
10) You had faith that your credit card network was operational and would process your credit card with no problem.
11) You had faith that your car would be where you parked it, so that you could return home.
12) Again, you had faith that your car would work, so that it could take you home, because you got in, put the key in the ignition and drove away.

Now, did you honestly think that you displayed at least 12 acts of faith, in that one scenario? Seriously? Can you find more acts of faith in that scenario, that I may not have counted?

So as you can see, most people do things without even realizing that what they're doing is believing and acting out their faith. And that is exactly what faith is. It becomes such a part of who you are, until you do it without giving it second thoughts.

With faith, there are no doubts, no worries, no fear and no second-guessing. In the scenario above, every act of faith was done with trust and confidence. You weren't concerned with how the car worked, how the food was prepared, how the credit card processing worked, or any of that. You just had the faith. This what Mark 11 is referring to when it says to speak it, believe it and it is done.

That is the Law of Attraction. That is a Biblical Principle

More Scriptural References
There are hundreds of Biblical scriptures to support BELIEVING and having FAITH, but here are just a few more as reference points for you:

Matthew 8:13
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee

Mark 9:23
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth

Luke 1:45
....And blessed is she that believed:

Matthew 15:28
.....great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt

Matthew 21:21
If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done

Luke 17:6
If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, "Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea"; and it should obey you

Romans 1:17
The just shall live by faith.

And when you believe that you have what you desire, there is no need for you to concern yourself with the HOW it will manifest. That part is totally up to God and we will discuss that in more details in the next post, LETTING GO.

Stay tuned!

P.S.
It has been a week since I completed the ASK component of the Law of Attraction: A Biblical Principle. That was because I was blessed with an unexpected mini-vacation to New Orleans to celebrate one of my friend's birthday. Do you remember in this post, I talked about how the words that we speak, really do say a lot and sow seeds in our lives. Also, in that post, I wrote some phrases that you can use instead of the ones that will cancel out what you desire. One of those phrases was "I receive all blessings, thank you." Well, that was my exact response when I received the invitation on Thursday night, to leave early Friday morning. All expenses were paid and I had a great time at no costs to me. God is in the blessing business!
