The Law of Attraction: A Biblical Principle- Letting Go

BELIEVE = FAITH + LETTING GO

In the previous post, I explained the role of FAITH why it is important to have it. Having Faith is Believing, but there is another component to that equation, LETTING GO.

The Law of Attraction says that once you've ASKED through your Thoughts + Feelings + Speaking, and now that you have the Faith for it, the next step is to LET IT GO.

The Bible says the same thing.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Philippians 4:6 (AMP)
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God

LETTING GO is your belief in action. It having enough confidence in what you believe until you let it go and let God do whatever needs to be done for that thing to become a part of your physical reality. Don't concern yourself with the HOW it will manifest. Just know that it will because you trust God and with Him, all things are possible.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed

1 Corinthians 2:11
no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

Isaiah 55:8
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

Isaiah 55:8 (NLT)
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine

When you concern yourself with trying to 'make it happen', you are saying that you don't have enough Faith in God to make it manifest. So, you go about trying to do it yourself.  But when you loose it and let it go, you are submitting it to God because you know that when He is done, it will be better than you could have imagined.

Taking Action
When you turn it over to God, you're not trying to 'MAKE it happen", but you will need to take some kind of action that proves that you truly have faith in what you have asked for.

But the action that you take is not just any action. Instead, it is action inspired by your faith.

"Well what do you mean by inspired action?".

I'm glad you asked and here's what I mean. It is action that you feel in your heart to do. Not out of worry or desperation, but out of state of PEACE. With inspired action, you have a 'gut feeling' that all is well so when you do something that will confirm your belief, a sense of peace comes over you. You will have the sense of peace about it, even if the action knocks you outside of your comfort zone.

Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

This inspired action will come from the wisdom that you will receive from God, that will lead you in the right direction. So be prepared to receive an answer and directions from God. You may be riding down the street and feel compelled to stop and go into a particular store. You may find that a certain city or town keeps surfacing around you constantly, which may be your cue to move there. You may be eating dinner and suddenly have this great idea for a new business. You may have this overwhelming feeling to attend this particular function because the divine connection that you need will be there even though you don't know it yet. Be more aware of your surroundings, watch and listen for guidance. God wants us to seek his guidance and He promises that He will answer.

Proverbs 1:5
let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance

Matthew 7:8
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

When you have received your guidance, take action immediately. Be sure to ask God to guide you through your actions. If you don’t take action, nothing will change, nothing will happen to bring your request into your physical reality.

New Job Example
Now let me give you an example to tie this equation together: (You know I love examples).

You DESIRE a new job, making more money. So you ASK (thoughts + feelings + speaking) for it. Now it's time to BELIEVE it (faith + letting go).

Here's what takes place.

You want a particular kind of job, so you ASKS for it. You BELIEVE that you will get it, so you LET GO and Let God work it out. You have a gut feeling to submit your resume' to a particular company (Inspired Action). You go through the interviewing process (Inspired Action) and are offered the job (Faith). Since you received an offer the job, you submit your 2-week notice resigning your current position and prepare for your new position (Inspired Action).

Now let me explain this further in terms of what just happened.

You asked for the job and received an offer for the job. But you DO NOT have the job yet because it is not a part of your physical reality yet. In other words, you received the confirmation (BELIEF) that you have it, but because you are not physically working it yet, you DO NOT have it. You still have some time to go (2 weeks) before that new job is becomes a part of your reality. However, since you received your confirmation, you acted on that belief when you resigned your current position. You took the necessary actions to prepare you to fully walk into the manifestation of your new job.

Also, you asked for more money in your new position. When you received the offer, it was one making more money (BELIEF), but again, it has not manifested yet. But you take ACTION, by going to work everyday with the BELIEF that the money will manifest, in the form of your paycheck. By working everyday, although you have not seen the money, you are displaying acts of faith that you will receive it.

And because God can do more than you could ever imagine, the new company tells you that they've found more money in the budget and can pay you even more money. (This actually happened to one of my friends, just a couple of months ago).

Through FAITH, you know that you have what you have asked for. You have the confidence and assurance that it's going to manifest and become a part of your reality. So you LET GO and Let God work it out. Take action ONLY when you feel inspired to do so.

That is the Law of Attraction: That is a Biblical Principle

Now that you understand how to ASK and how to BELIEVE, we're going to get into how to RECEIVE. This is where most people are challenged with this principle.
