“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?

Welcome to something that has been happening for years, but not too popular in this day and age; the decision to choose chastity.

iChoose Chastity is a movement to live a life that is free from sexual immorality and to present our bodies as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, our Father.

I have been studying what this word ‘chastity’ means, so let’s start by defining it:

Chastity is refraining from ANY sex with anyone other than the person you are married to. It is remaining free from sexual immorality so it applies to those who are single as well as those who are married. Again, it is abstaining from sex with anyone other than the person you are joined together with through the sanctity of God and lawful marriage.

iChoose Chastity is making the decision to remain pure in the sight of God. It is making the choice to live according to God’s purpose and Will for our lives.

In the Scriptures, Matthew 6:33, instructs us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. That means we seek to do what is right because it is right.  I believe that when we are seeking to live according to the plans and purpose that God has created us for, and we remove the distraction of sexual immorality, then we establish better relationships through verbal communications along with spiritual and emotional connection on a deeper level. And that is what we should all be striving for. 

That is what this movement is about.

The Bible says that we are to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto God for this is our reasonable act of service (Romans 12:1). I understand that this is referring to sex, but I also take it mean that our bodies should be free from anything that is unholy including misusing or abusing our bodies through acts of gluttony or eating disorders, illegal use of drugs and over indulgence in alcohol or any other debauchery that is not godly. So, as we make this decision to choose chastity, let’s treat our bodies with the purity that it deserves so that we have the strength and vitality to fulfill the call and purpose that we were created for.

iChoose Chastity is a movement to change our lifestyles and our bodies as it relates to removing impurities and toxins. Come along with us!
